Avon Summer Theater began in the late 1950's as an Avon Public School summer music and arts program developed by Avon High School teachers Joseph Donato, Paul McMahon, and Fran Lynch. In 1961 they produced their first musical, The King and I. In the summers following, they continued their summer musical tradition with productions of Peter Pan,
Carousel, Annie Get Your Gun and more. The summer theater torch was then passed to many others over the years, leading to this summer's 57th musical. |
